These briefs exert a compressive and support action on the abdomen to avoid that the tissues may yield and/or sog and to contain reducible inguinal hernias. In order to obtain the best functional results, a wide range of models offering a wide, comfortable and extremely flexible compression surface has been developed. Instead of pressing against the hemia, these briefs simply provide support to achieve better dynamic results: the support structures in the various models are shaped to run oblique compared to the waistband, which is lower in front and higher on the back. Includes two hernia pads left and right.

Goal setting
Open the belts, loosen the front shin from the inner shoe and finally take the inner shoe out of the Walker.
Open the leg and foot part of the inner shoe by loosening the Velcro fasteners. Ask the patient to place his foot and lower leg into the inner shoe. Make sure that the air chambers are empty!
Close the inner shoe and make sure that it is firmly fixed to the patient's leg. Align the inner shoe in such a way that the integrated pump is sitting in the middle and so that later it fits into the space provided in the shin.
Now ask the patient to place their foot in the half shell of the Walker. The lower leg and foot should positioned so that they fit exactly into the shell.
Check to see that the foot is properly set and positioned in the Walker.
Make sure that the patient's toes are not pushing against the toe protector. If necessary, the toe protector's position can be adjusted or it can be removed completely.
Now place the loose front shin onto the patient's shinbone and foot. Make sure that the pump and ventilator fit into the spaces provided.
Close the belts to stabilise the system. Start by closing the belt at the front and then close all the other belts one after another. The belts should fit tightly.
Extra material can be cut away.
Ask the patient to walk around in the orthosis to make sure that the Walker is sitting properly.
To tighten the Walker's fit, the air cushions can be filled using the pump system. Adding or letting out air can be operated using the valve. The padded pieces can be used as additional padding.

Intended purpose
The Lumbamed facet operates using a combination of compressing knitted fabric, stabilising back rods and a pullstrap system which increases pressure. Abdominal compression and trunk musculature support relieve the strain on the lumbar column and thereby ease pain. The four crossover pull straps create a double three-point system with the dorsal points of application on the pelvis and in the upper lumbar spine area. Through individual pressure management, this three-point strap system increases the effect of reducing lordosis formation.
Basically, the orthotic can be worn all day long. The special cut in the groin area (Comfort Zone) ensures that the fit of the support is comfortable and just right. However, the length of time you wear it should depend on your needs.
Goal setting
Before putting on the orthotic, please loosen the straps, so that it can be put on without pulling. To do so, unfasten the velcro ends of the straps and loosen these by placing them further back on the velour on the belt.
The label on the right-hand inner fastener has information on what way to put on the orthotic (with the magenta edge pointing upwards).
Now, slide your left hand into the inner hand strap on the left-hand fastener side.
Wrap the support around your body and check once again on the label that you have the orthotic the right way around (magenta edge pointing upwards).
Now, slide your right hand into the outer hand strap on the right-hand fastener side.
Pull both fastener sides together in the middle, so that they can be velcroed over each other as far at the same distance. When fastening, ensure that the back brace is in the middle. The orthotic is on properly when the lower fastener edge is just above the pubic bone.
Now unfasten the velcro ends of both lower pull straps and pull these forward at the same time. You can adjust the tightness to suit your own requirements and manage your pain levels.
Do the same for the upper pull straps.
Information for technicians:
The strap length may be adjusted by cutting it at the edge of the Y fastener.
