When the battery temperature is within safe charging range and AC power is available, Eclipse 5 charges the battery. If the battery is inserted and charged, the gadget will automatically switch to the battery when external power is cut off. The device will receive electricity from the external power source and recharge the battery when external power is restored by connecting to an AC outlet. The battery does not have to be installed in order for the Eclipse 5 to function.

The external power outlet of the gadget must be lined up with the power plug for an AC or DC power supply to be connected properly. When looking at the device from the Control Panel, the recessed external power receptacle is on the right side of the gadget. Push
