Design and Benefits of Bariatric Crutches 

You can adjust the height by pressing both push buttons, rotating the footpiece, and pulling down until the desired user height is obtained. To help in doing this, the footpiece has a circular ring marked to indicate the location of the push button. Rotate the footpiece again until both push buttons snap back into place.  You can also adjust the handgrip to fit an approximate 10" bend at the patient's elbow.  With crutches positioned as per the diagram below, confirm the patient can lean forward comfortably while resting on the underarm supports. The patient should not have to stand uncomfortably erect. Ensure both pushbuttons are firmly in place and handgrip nuts are tightened securely. 

Extra thick (latex-free) underarm pads and hand grips provide maximum comfort when in use. Tool-free push-button adjustment allows the height of the underarm pad to be easily adjusted in 1" increments. The padding is also contoured for a custom fit and is machine washable. Hand grips adjust separately without tools to ensure a proper fit. The most significant element of the Drive Medical Bariatric Tall Steel Walking Crutches is its weight-supporting capacity of 600 lbs, which can accommodate users of any size.
